Learn more about how to treat sinusitis with TCM

Many people mistake sinusitis for rhinitis but sinusitis is more severe and persistent. Beyond nasal congestion and runny nose, it can cause fatigue, dizziness, poor sleep, reduced appetite, even memory issues. Left untreated, it affects your quality of life.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), when nasal symptoms like congestion or thick discharge last over 10 days especially with headaches or loss of smell, sinusitis is likely.

Common causes:
• Weak immunity from fatigue, poor diet, cold/damp exposure
• Structural or chronic nasal issues
• Seasonal shifts or unresolved colds

TCM views sinusitis as a mix of wind, heat, dampness, and toxin blocking the nasal passages. Early stages are more excess type (heat/damp), while long term cases involve deficiency and stagnation.

It is advisable that sinusitis must be treated early and consistently to avoid chronic damage.
